Overview
Our Communications team is looking for Web Publishers, where you'll play a key role in keeping WorkSafeBC's internal and external websites fresh, up-to-date, and in line with design and web standards. Collaborating closely with the web team and internal departments, you'll manage content updates from start to finish-gathering, implementing, securing approvals, and posting. You'll also optimize PDFs, images, and other assets for the web, recommend improvements to enhance user experience, and streamline web publishing processes. Plus, you'll take on a variety of other tasks to support the team.

What you'll do
- Use content management systems (such as Sitecore and SharePoint) to publish changes to WorkSafeBC's external and internal websites (updating HTML pages, posting documents and other assets)
- Prepare web assets (e.g., PDFs and images) for posting online
- Conduct research to remain abreast of current best practices in web site publishing and presentation of material

- Ensure that web updates meet WorkSafeBC's publishing, brand, and information technology standards and follow accepted industry best-practices
- Provide ongoing feedback on opportunities to improve functionality and production processes to improve website performance and the user experience
- Consult with other team members and client departments to ensure clarity of objectives and offer alternative solutions as required
- Provide quality client service while maintaining a high attention to detail
- Use workflow management tools to track the status of website updates, assembles material for publishing into pre-production and production environments, and ensures the successful completion of website changes
- Remain current with trends in the web publishing industry
Your background and experience
- A degree or post-secondary 2-year diploma related to web site publishing
- A minimum of two years of real time experience in the web site publishing field
