Job Description
Alexis Fiscal Advisory is seeking a reliable and skilled Fast Food Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all kitchen and restaurant equipment in our fast-food locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting abilities and have hands-on experience with various types of fast-food kitchen appliances, such as fryers, grills, refrigerators, and HVAC systems. This role will focus on ensuring that all equipment is maintained, repaired, and operational to avoid downtime and ensure a safe, efficient working environment for staff and a quality experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities-
Equipment Maintenance:

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on kitchen equipment, including fryers, ovens, grills, refrigeration units, and HVAC systems.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment malfunctions and breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner.

Maintain a comprehensive log of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.

Repairs and Troubleshooting:

Identify and resolve issues related to electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems within the fast food restaurant.

Repair or replace faulty components, such as electrical wiring, thermostats, compressors, and other machinery parts.

Work closely with external contractors or service providers for major repairs or specialized services when required.

Safety and Compliance:

Ensure all equipment and repairs comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding food safety, health codes, and safety standards.

Conduct regular safety checks to ensure that equipment is operating safely and efficiently.

Follow all safety procedures, including proper lockout/tagout practices, while performing maintenance work.

Inventory and Supply Management:

Keep an inventory of maintenance supplies, parts, and tools required for ongoing repair and maintenance tasks.

Order replacement parts and supplies when needed, and ensure that parts are available to avoid delays in repairs.

Collaboration and Support:

Work closely with kitchen and restaurant staff to address equipment issues that affect restaurant operations.

Provide support and guidance to team members on proper equipment usage and basic troubleshooting techniques.

Assist management in ensuring the kitchen environment meets high standards for safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.

Customer and Operational Focus:

Respond to emergency repair requests during service hours to minimize downtime and ensure that kitchen operations continue without interruption.

Proactively maintain equipment to prevent major issues that could disrupt restaurant operations or service quality.

Communicate effectively with management regarding equipment performance, needed repairs, and safety concerns.

Education and Experience:
-
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in maintenance, refrigeration, or HVAC are a plus.

2+ years of experience in maintenance, specifically in a fast-food or commercial kitchen environment.

Hands-on experience with common kitchen equipment such as fryers, grills, ovens, refrigerators, and HVAC systems.

Technical Skills:

Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair equipment quickly.

Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems within commercial kitchen settings.

Familiarity with food safety standards and health regulations related to kitchen equipment.

Soft Skills:

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear communication with restaurant staff and management.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also collaborating effectively within a team.

Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage repair schedules and inventory.

Certifications (Preferred):
-
EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
-
Certification in commercial kitchen maintenance or HVAC.

Ability to lift heavy equipment and tools (up to 50 lbs).

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including under pressure during peak hours.

Willingness to work in various conditions, including near hot equipment or in cold storage areas.

Ability to bend, kneel, and crouch as required to repair kitchen equipment.
