Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President, IH & CQPO, the Executive Director, Quality and Transformation (the ED) has Executive level responsibility for Quality-based activities (E.g. Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, Quality-based education, and training), Transformation, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (I.D.E.A.) Person and Family Centered Care, and Accreditation across the organization and provides leadership in all aspects of operations within the portfolio. This role and portfolio are fundamental to enabling long-term transformation and continuous improvement by working collaboratively across the organization. The ED represents the portfolio in providing executive level contribution to strategic and operational planning for the organization and establishes and maintains a recognized strategic leadership knowledge for the portfolio. The ED supports the VP, IH & CQPO through regular participation at the Board Committee level and various internal and external leadership and governance committees related to the assigned portfolio, providing expert advice and input to advance the goals of Northern Health. Informed by patients, families, and direct care staff, with the guidance of general policies, strategic framework and broad directives from executive, the ED maintains significant autonomy, latitude for action and decision-making authority within the portfolio and is accountable for the results. The ED leads the development of a quality improvement strategy and work plan to support transformation, IDEA, person and family centered care and accreditation and the maturation of a quality culture. Guided by the strategy/plan, the ED works to ensure the use of consistent evidence-based consistent evidence-based approaches a consistent evidence- based approaches and consistent tools, expertise, and structures to facilitate improvement in a systematic way. The ED is also responsible for developing and building capacity in the strategic development and use of transformation tools and processes.
Starting salary will be approximately from $141,146 to $176,433 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualfications
• Master's degree in Health/Health Management or a related discipline.
• Ten (10) recent relevant progressive experience providing planning and decision leadership at the Executive and Governance level in a large and complex health care environment including experience building, guiding, coaching, and developing high-performing and cross-functional teams.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrated ability to lead, plan, direct, manage, and implement using a collaborative style.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, including the ability to facilitate working groups and make presentations to groups.
• Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic environment, driving competing system-wide priorities.
• Demonstrated understanding of quality improvement, transformation methodologies, systems analysis, data collection, and statistical applications.
• Comprehensive knowledge of current health care issues, trends, policy, legislation and research.
• Demonstrated system perspective.
• Current knowledge of best practices in business planning, quality, and transformation processes.
• Ability to build partnerships and foster effective working relationships, internally and externally, at all levels.
• Ability to research, analyze and problem-solve complex issues towards creative solutions and recommendations.
• Ability to provide guidance and direction to others including the Board, Executive team, managers and staff.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and balance multiple activities concurrently.
• Physical Ability to perform the duties of the position.
