Job Summary

The Team
Join the Child and Youth Mental Health team, North East Fraser Service Delivery, where you'll be part of a collaborative group dedicated to enhancing the well-being of vulnerable populations. The team consists of multidisciplinary Child and Youth Mental Health clinicians in an established local service area, all committed to delivering high-quality services in child and youth mental health. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside various stakeholders, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and making a meaningful impact on families and communities

The Role
As the Director of Operations, you will play a crucial role in planning and managing a variety of services that support children, youth, and families, particularly those facing vulnerabilities. Your responsibilities will include coordinating service delivery standards, ensuring high-quality practices across Child & Youth Mental Health, Child Protection, and Family Services, while also leading strategic initiatives and driving continuous improvement. This position not only allows you to make a meaningful impact on mental health and family well-being but also offers the chance to collaborate with diverse teams to innovate and enhance integrated care models that strengthen our communities.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Child and Youth Care, or Masters in Clinical Psychology, Educational Counselling Psychology, or Social Work, or in a related field.
    • NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must request a comprehensive report and the MCFD supplemental report to be considered for this competition.
  • Supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience in program and service delivery planning/evaluation.


Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:
  • Extensive progressively responsible experience in one or more of the following fields: child & youth mental health, child protection, family services, children and youth with support needs, aboriginal services, childcare, child welfare administration and/or youth justice.
  • Experience delivering and leading Child and Youth Mental Health Services.
  • Six (6) months or more of work experience as Director of Operations in the Service Delivery Division.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory/management role.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in program and service delivery planning/evaluation.
  • At least three (3) years of experience managing human and fiscal resources.


Willingness Statements:
  • May be required to work evenings/weekends.
  • Exposure to regular travel in remote locations.
  • May be required to use own vehicle on an expense account basis.
  • Must be willing to travel periodically for provincial meetings.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid BC class 5 Driver's licence.

About this Position:
Amendment (11/01/24): The word "North" removed from the title.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
This position can be based out of any of the locations listed above and provides service to Burnaby, Coquitlam, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, New Westminster, and Anmore. Travel between these communities is required.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
This position is excluded from union membership.
