The Team
Our Parksville Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) team is a dedicated group of experienced clinicians, including full-time and part-time professionals, an outreach support worker, and a supportive team leader. Together, we bring energy, expertise, and a commitment to knowledge-sharing, working alongside families and community partners to deliver wrap-around support for children, youth, and their families. The Role
As a CYMH Clinician on our team, you'll play a vital role in providing direct clinical services including intake services, assessment, treatment and some crisis intervention. You will work closely with team members, community agencies, schools, hospitals and other ministry programs to provide comprehensive care, including individual, group and family therapy. You will have the opportunity to work with a supportive and passionate team to make a meaningful positive difference in the lives of children, youth, and their families facing emotional and behavioral challenges.

About this Position:
This position is part time (0. 5 FTE, 35 hours biweekly).

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to one (1) day at home per biweekly subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future part time and full time permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) and Enhanced Security Screening will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Masters in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master's level in a similar subject may be considered.
- NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services ( ICES ). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
- Minimum of one year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
- Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver's license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Two years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services .
- Applicants who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.
