Job Summary
The Team
The Fraser Cascade Guardianship Team is a compassionate group dedicated to supporting children and youth aged 0-19 who are placed in alternative living arrangements. With a focus on providing trauma-informed, culturally safe care, the team works collaboratively with families, caregivers, and community professionals to ensure the holistic needs of each child are met-whether those are medical, emotional, or developmental. This growing team of 5.5 social workers and a team leader is based in Chilliwack, offering services to surrounding areas including Hope, Agassiz, and Boothroyd. Their passion and flexibility in a constantly evolving environment make them a supportive and impactful team to be a part of.
The Role
The role in the Guardianship Team involves providing critical support to children and youth in care by coordinating access visits, helping parents connect with community-based programs, and assisting with independent living plans for youth in care. You will also support case management activities, such as gathering information for care plans, serving court documents, and ensuring foster parents receive payments. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to directly impact the lives of children and families, making a real difference in their journey through care. About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.

- Secondary School Graduation or Equivalent AND one of the following:
- 2 years of post-secondary studies towards a degree, diploma or certificate in a related human services field or equivalent discipline (Human Services fields or equivalent include Social Work, Child & Youth Care, Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Anthropology, Early Childhood Education, Indigenous Studies, Education, Theology and Nursing) PLUS a minimum of 1 year or more of related** work experience; OR
- 1 year of post-secondary studies towards a degree, diploma or certificate in a related human services field or equivalent discipline (Human Services fields or equivalent include Social Work, Child & Youth Care, Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Anthropology, Early Childhood Education, Indigenous Studies, Education, Theology and Nursing) PLUS a minimum of 2 years or more of related** work experience; OR
- Minimum of 3 years or more of related** work experience.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Applicants who have supported guardianship and family services teams within the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD)
- Experience using the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) Integrated Case Management (ICM) and/or Management Information Systems (MIS) computer systems.
- Applicants who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.
