Skyline Engineering Ltd. is a Victoria based structural engineering firm designing multi-storey residential, commercial, institutional, educational, healthcare, marine, and recreation projects. Our team combines their engineering expertise in the use of conventional and heavy timber wood frame, reinforced concrete, and steel to create efficient and unique structural designs where the structural function complements the Architectural form. Our boutique firm prioritizes balancing our workloads so that each project receives the direct attention it requires. Skyline Engineering is well respected in the local area with a diverse list of projects, from single family residential to large (>100$M) commercial projects.

Employment Opportunity

Skyline Engineering is seeking an entry to intermediate level Structural BIM/CAD Technologist. We require candidates with a keen interest in building modelling and knowledge of the construction industry. The successful candidate will be directly supervised by a senior technologist with over 20 years of experience.

Duties

Drafting of structural drawings
Coordinate the structural design and liaise with the consultant team (architectural, mechanical, electrical, etc.)
Preparation of technical site instructions
Review of shop drawings

Qualifications and Requirements

Completed Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, or Computer Aided Design and Drafting
Proficiency in AutoCad and/or Revit

Other Assets

Experience reading and preparing structural and/or architectural drawings
General understanding of construction and construction procedures
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to take direction and work well with others
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Strong attention to detail
Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
