Job Description

Our client is looking for an Infrastructure Manager for a full time opportunity! This position is fully on-site in Burnaby, BC.
  • Strong leadership skills, including experience managing a team of systems and network administrators
  • Experience working in enterprise environments (500+ servers) would be considered an asset
  • Experience with Data Center migrations would be considered an asset.

What & Why:
As the Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of system and network administrators to maintain and enhance our IT infrastructure. You will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our enterprise environment, which includes over 500 servers. Additionally, you will lead data center migration projects, ensuring that transitions are smooth and minimize disruptions to business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:
  • Manage and mentor a team of system and network administrators.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and support to team members.

Infrastructure Management:
  • Oversee the daily operation of the IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and related systems.
  • Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of the enterprise environment.
  • Implement and manage disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Data Center Migrations:
  • Lead and coordinate data center migration projects, including planning, execution, and post-migration validation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop migration strategies and timelines.
  • Address and resolve any issues that arise during the migration process.

Strategic Planning:
  • Develop and execute infrastructure strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and upgrades.
  • Manage infrastructure budgets and resource allocation.

Vendor Management:
  • Engage with vendors and service providers to negotiate contracts and manage relationships.
  • Oversee the procurement and deployment of hardware and software.

You:
You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, Cisco, Microsoft) are a plus.

Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of server, network, and data center technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience managing system and network administrators in a large enterprise environment with 500+ servers.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and executing data center migrations.

Compensation:
  • $150,000 - $170,000 per year.
