Job Description
Our well established Vancouver client is seeking an International Tax Specialist to join their team. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the International Tax Specialist will be responsible for managing Canada, US, and international cross-border payroll, including tax-related matters.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare Canadian and US payroll-related tax forms, waivers, and applications
- Perform monthly payroll tax calculations, including equity sourcing
- Coordinate payroll requirements for expatriate payrolls
- Reconcile payroll-related accounts
- Cross-train payroll team members with a focus on tax knowledge
- Take on payroll-related projects as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Tax Accounting, or Business
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a public accounting firm
- In-depth tax course is an asset
- Experience working with international payroll service providers
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize, adapt, and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
