Swim is excited to be working in partnership with this new private equity client on this unique Manager, Tax & Accounting opportunity that is varied in tax and reporting. Reporting to the VP Finance, this role is reporting on various investments in funds, real estate as well as joint ventures and partnerships for the organization. If you have relevant experience in public practice and/or industry including Canadian tax experience and find real estate, investments and private equity interesting, this could be for you! Working with a very talented team, this is a great opportunity to gain experience working with some experienced leaders in the industry.

Our client, a fast-paced private equity firm with an impressive portfolio of real estate investments and funds. They have a tight knit office with an experienced team to learn from.

What- the Role:
Key Responsibilities -
Accounting and Finance:

Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year end reports required to be delivered to limited partners and stakeholders
Review current processes and workflow; identify deficiencies and implement improvements
Monitoring and management of cash of the partnerships and manager
Assist with all aspects of external loan calculations, recording and reporting, including ensuring all loan covenants and conditions are met
Understanding and interpreting Loan Partnership Agreements, Management Agreements and other technical documents as they arise
Assist with investor relations related activities
Supervising and/or reviewing the work of the Senior Corporate Accountant.

Audit and Tax:

Prepare financial statements and tax returns, audited as well as internal.
Ensure all tax fillings are prepared and submitted on a timely basis to regulatory authorities and to investors including joint partnerships.
Liaise with external advisors, and support with coordinating activities to ensure an efficient process.
Coordinating the preparation of Partnership (T5013) and Corporate (T2) returns

Who- the Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have a strong Canadian tax background coupled with relevant experience in public practice and/or industry.

Qualifications / Skills:

Must be a CPA with 5+ years of relevant professional experience in audit and tax. Preferred is experience in public practice and relevant Canadian tax experience.
CICA In depth level 1, 2 or 3 is considered an asset.
Knowledge and understanding of the public securities markets and real estate industry is preferred.
Understanding and experience in full cycle accounting
Exceptional experience in financial modelling, forecasting and variance analysis.
Experience in managing and scaling a team
Experience with QuickBooks, Profile
tax and Concur software will be considered an asset
Ability to systematically manage a challenging workload and meet stringent deadlines

How Much:
Competitive base salary commensurate with level of experience. Ideal range will be between $100-120,000 plus bonus, vacation, and benefits. Please discuss further with SWIM.

Where:
This role will be based full-time in office in Vancouver.
