6-month Solution Architect contract opportunity building out supply chain technology solutions for a global brand with hybrid work in Vancouver

Highly respected brand located in Vancouver with hybrid work, 3 days a week in office.

What & Why:
As a result of investment in technology our client is looking to add a Solution Architect to their team. This is the perfect role for a solution guru who has a passion for creativity and can own and end to end design concept through to build. This team is focused on delivering technology solutions for the upstream supply chain team. You will be responsible for the solution/system Design of System architecture and roadmap, and you will utilize architecture best practices and standards in design and build. You will design and document re-usable and scalable frameworks and components. It would be ideal if you are well experienced in the Retail/Supply chain industry, familiar with application systems and business practices in this realm. This is a great chance to join a rapidly growing team.

They have invested majorly in technology and have had an incredibly successful past few years, including a major strategic acquisition. They have an all-star leadership team who keeps you accountable and provides support while still affording you tremendous autonomy. They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have a hybrid work environment with 3 days a week in office.

You:
You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:

10+ years of software engineering experience including at least 2 years at a retail/supply-chain organization in Solution Architect capacity
Well experienced in the Retail/Supply chain industry, familiar with application systems and business practices in this realm
Experience solutioning end-to-end full-stack applications, integration of SaaS and PaaS systems
Experience building technology roadmaps spanning 3-5 years
Experience in vendor evaluation and scoring of new technologies/tools
Experience working in a SAFe ® /Agile environment
Experience contributing to multiple medium to large size initiatives simultaneously
Familiarity with streaming platforms (real-time data at massive scale like Confluent Kafka).
Experience with AWS or other public clouds from a system design perspective
Experience working with containers, Docker, Kubernetes or other container schedulers
Experience with DevOps practices (i.e. CI/CD, Jenkins, Github, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Angular, datadog )
Experience in other programming languages like JavaScript/TypeScript or Python is an asset

Compensation:
This role pays between $85-90 per hour
