What you can expect to do here:

You will support socio-economic and land and marine use assessments as part of environmental impact assessments for a wide variety of sectors, including infrastructure, power and renewable energy, mining, and oil & gas.
You will support secondary research, primary data collection, and field work, including qualitative and quantitative data collection with Indigenous Nations, user groups, communities, and the public.
You will conduct analysis and reporting of socio-economic research.
You will support Indigenous and public engagement activities for projects.
You will assist with the development of socio-economic and land and marine use management plans for projects to meet regulatory and corporate requirements and best practices.
You will support other WSP services as may be required, such as socio-economic monitoring, health impact assessments, permit applications, and social compliance and due diligence reviews.
You will assist senior staff with project coordination and management, proposal development, and technical presentations.

What you'll bring to WSP:

Educational Background: A university degree in social science, natural resource management, or a related field is required. A graduate degree is preferred.
Professional Experience: Minimum of one year of relevant professional experience.
Research Skills: Proven social science research skills, including the use of government statistics, surveys, interviews, and focus groups. Experience in designing and implementing research programs and logistics is essential.
Team Collaboration: A strong team player with experience working on multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
Community Engagement: Experience working with Indigenous nations, communities, and the public.
Flexibility: Willingness to travel for business and work extended hours as needed.
Work Ethic: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a strong work ethic.
Communication Skills: Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
