Position Summary

Are you someone who has a real passion for helping others? Follow the path to an exciting career as a Registered Care Aide at McBride and District Hospital.

In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Registered Care Aide works under the functional direction of a Registered Nurse or other designate and in cooperation with interdisciplinary team members to assist in the delivery of client care in accordance with established policies, standards, and procedures.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Evenings - 15:30 to 21:45, Rotating

McBride and District Hospital is a full-service hospital:
• 24-hour Emergency room
• Outpatient services
• 3 Acute Care beds
• 8 Long-term-care beds
• Full-time laboratory services
• Full-time X-ray services
• Spiritual room
• 1 Respite bed and 1 Palliative Care room
Hospital staff:
• 2 full-time physicians
• A full contingent of nursing staff including RN, LPN, Care Aides and Bath Aide
• Full support staff - Dietary, Housekeeping, Laundry, and Maintenance

McBride is nestled between the Canadian Rockies and the Cariboo Mountains in the beautiful Robson Valley. Towering mountains outline the horizon with beautiful snow-capped peaks. Major industries include forestry, government services, construction and trade. There is one elementary school and one senior secondary school in McBride. The community is only a 45-minute drive from Mount Robson, 1.5 hours from Jasper and the Alberta border, and just two hours from Prince George. Qualfications
• Grade 10 plus graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience and registered with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.

Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
