Position Summary

Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at McBride and District Hospital.
The Registered Nurse provides nursing care according to the established standards and administrative policies. This involves triaging and assessing physical and psychosocial needs, planning, implementing, and documenting the nursing care for an individual patient or groups of patients. Co-ordinates the care of assigned patients and supervises the work activities of assigned non-professional nursing staff. The Registered Nurse assists with the implementation of primary care duties within the course of the daily duties.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00, rotating
New Wage: As of April 1, 2024 the new wage is: $41.42 - $55.91/hour
McBride and District Hospital is a three acute care bed hospital with eight long term care beds, one respite bed and one palliative care bed. It offers 24-hour emergency services, outpatient services, full time laboratory and medical imaging. In the adjoining health centre, they offer primary care, mental health, and substance use, well woman's and foot care clinics. Visiting specialists come to the clinic for orthopedics and renal treatment.
McBride , situated in the beautiful Robson Valley with a population of 616 (2021) residents. Nestled between the Canadian Rockies and the Cariboo Mountains, this tight knit community offers endless opportunities to explore and enjoy the amazing landscape. Qualfications
• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
• Minimum of one (1) years' experience in Emergency, Outpost and/or Rural Hospital Nursing.
• Trauma Nursing Core Competency (TNCC) and ACLS certification
Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrated ability in carrying out the principles of nursing skills in patient care.
• Proven ability to chart and record accurately.
• Proven comfort as an RN working within a rural area.
• Ability to communicate effectively, as part of a team.
• Ability to take charge within emergency situations and direct other nursing staff regarding patient care standards.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Ability to organize work.
