Are you a detail-oriented and motivated accounting professional looking to make a significant impact? Canfor is currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Project Accountant. Reporting to our Senior Accountant, Capital, this role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our management team, providing crucial financial insights and support to drive our projects forward.

What You'll Be Doing:

Manage and track costs associated with scheduled maintenance shut-downs.
Prepare and process various month-end tasks related to shut-downs and fixed assets.
Reconcile GL accounts for shut-downs and fixed assets.
Complete all fixed assets transactions, including disposals, additions, and transfers.
Administer user accounts in the purchasing and asset management system (Synergen).
Ensure compliance with CPL policy and accounting standards (IFRS).
Provide backup and support to the Senior Accountant, Capital.
Occasionally travel between the three Prince George operations.
Perform other duties and tasks assigned.

What We're Looking For:

A Diploma in Accounting and Business Admin or equivalent work experience. Candidates pursuing a CPA designation would be considered an asset.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency with MS Excel.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
A valid driver's license and personal vehicle.

The salary range for this position is: $80,000.00-$100,000.00
