Overview

Are you an innovator who has experience communicating business needs and leading teams through the launch of new technology products? The Assessments and Finance division is looking for a Product Owner to be the voice in communicating our business objectives, values, and needs to development teams across the organization to ensure clear understanding of business benefits and impacts of initiatives.

Under direction of the Senior Manager, Business Product Management - Corporate Business Operations, the Product Owner will align stakeholders on the lifecycle and vision of products, while working directly with technical teams in an agile environment. The Product Owner builds and maintains excellent relationships internally and externally at all levels of the organization, partnering closely with key stakeholders while ensuring that confidential and sensitive management information related to WorkSafeBC's operations are handled with discretion and tact.

Where you'll work

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you'll work primarily from our Richmond office, with some flexibility to work from your home in B.C.

What you'll do

As a Product Owner, you will:
  • Ensure that DevOps Pods are able to satisfy current and projected business requirements.
  • Represent the business in DevOps pods in the design, modification, and implementation of business priorities including scoping, building and prioritizing a backlog, weighing business priorities versus customer impacts and dividing the product backlog into themes and goals.
  • Promote a service-oriented approach in responding to information requests, providing services, and maintaining contacts with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to diverse groups including senior management.
  • Participate in planning activities with the management team.

Your experience and educational background
  • A degree in Information Technology or Business Management plus a minimum of 5 years recent, related experience including experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Certified Product Manager (CPM)
    • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
    • SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM)

We'll consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary: $116,186 - $141,166/annually
