Position Summary

In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, this position performs a series of detailed technical duties related to the decontamination, sterilization, reassembly, function testing and distribution of medical and/or surgical supplies and instruments for various areas of the hospital; and performs related clerical duties and record keeping.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Tuesday to Saturday, Evenings, 12:00 to 20:00
Fort St. John Hospital and Health Centre is a 46-bed hospital with 115 residential care beds in the adjoining Peace Villa Care Home. They have two state of the art operating rooms, ambulatory clinics including cancer care and hemodialysis, emergency and ICU, a birthing centre with single maternity rooms for labour, delivery, and post-partum.
Fort St. John is located above the Peace River Valley, and has a diverse population of 21,000 (2021) and serves an area of approximately 69,000. Qualfications
• Grade 12, successful completion of a recognized Sterile Supply Processing course, plus one year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology.
• Mathematical aptitude.
• Ability to communicate and deal effectively with others.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work.
