About the Opportunity

Our thriving Vancouver office is looking to add a talented and enthusiastic Land Economics Consultant to join our existing team of professionals serving clients and communities across Metro Vancouver and British Columbia.   • Preparing background research using primary and secondary data sources to support cost and revenue inputs for pro forma analysis work.
  • Conducting market trend analysis, including housing and retail demand forecasts.
  • Assisting in the preparation of proposals, work plans, informational interviews, and presentations.
  • Writing memorandums, report sections, and reports as needed to summarize analyses and present findings and recommendations.
  • Conducting market research related to a variety of land uses in urban and rural markets, as required.
  • Connecting with clients, including exploring issues and opportunities.

 

About You

Our ideal candidate will be a recent graduate from an urban planning, geography, urban land economics, or business administration program with up to 2 years of relevant experience.

The core skills that will help you succeed here include:

  • You have an interest and curiosity in expanding your knowledge and skills for financial and market analysis specific to real estate development and operations.
  • You are comfortable working with large volumes of data, including gathering, cleaning, and organizing data to ensure accuracy and reliability for analysis.
  • You are interested in serving local governments, Indigenous communities, and the development industry.
  • You are a self-starter and enjoy being resourceful and creative when dealing with imperfect or contradictory data.
  • You demonstrate advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • You have experience working with interdisciplinary teams and supporting a team-oriented environment through effective communication, active listening, and empathy.
  • You are accountable and dependable, taking responsibility for your actions and consistently meeting deadlines.
  • You possess a consulting mindset and are always looking for ways to provide value and insights to clients and the team around you.

The following skills and experience would be considered an asset:

  • Experience conducting statistical analysis using Statistics Canada, experience with pro forma analysis, and a well-rounded understanding of real estate, development, municipal finance, and planning.
