WSP is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer with HVAC and Plumbing experience to join our Water and Wastewater team in Vancouver, British Columbia. The role involves applying mechanical engineering knowledge to project work encompassing all aspects of water and wastewater treatment and transmission.
The Water and Wastewater team at WSP engages in the design of facilities such as Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants, Wastewater Lift Stations, Water Reservoirs, Pump Stations, and ancillary facilities. The team handles large and complex projects, sustainable systems, and projects utilizing Alternative Delivery methods including Integrated Project Delivery (IPD).

Salary range (in British Columbia): $71,500 - $98,300
The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. What you can expect to do here:
- Apply your mechanical engineering knowledge to create detailed designs for water and wastewater treatment systems, including pumps, piping, and other mechanical components;
- Assist in managing projects from conception through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget;
- Conduct technical analyses and calculations to support design decisions and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations;
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, electrical, and environmental engineers, to develop integrated solutions;
- Perform site visits to assess project progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that installations meet design specifications;
- Communicate with clients to understand their needs, provide technical advice, and present project updates;
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure the highest standards of engineering practice.
What you'll bring to WSP:
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution;
- Currently registered as a Professional Engineer or E.I.T. with EGBC or other Canadian Province or Territory;
- Good working knowledge of MS Office including Word and Excel;
- Proven working knowledge with Revit;
- Familiarity with applicable codes and standards including, but not limited to, the National Building Code, ASHRAE, and NFPA;
- Familiarity with the use of HVAC load calculation software.
