About the Opportunity

We are currently looking for a full-time Finance Manager, to join our team in Vancouver, BC on a temporary, 6-month basis, with the possibility of extension.

Reporting to the President, the Finance Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the Association’s financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting organizational sustainability, and providing valuable financial insights to support decision-making.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining and updating accounting policies, procedures, and controls
  • Developing and managing the annual budgeting process, including coaching team members on budget performance
  • Conducting financial analysis to support forecasting, cost reduction, and operational performance reviews
  • Administering payroll and managing membership renewal invoicing
  • Reconciling payments, processing accounts payable, and ensuring accurate financial records
  • Completing month-end procedures and presenting reconciled financial statements with variance analysis
  • Preparing and presenting reports for the Finance Audit Committee and Board of Directors
  • Coordinating annual audits and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Monitoring costs and contracts for financial operations such as banking and insurance
  • Supporting cash management at events and assisting with event-related tasks
  • Ensuring adequate office staffing and maintaining operational continuity
About You

To qualify, you will need a degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management or a similar role, and a CPA designation. Experience with payroll systems (Dayforce) and regulatory compliance will also be essential.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Experience working in a not-for-profit 
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and software, such as Sage 50, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting and audit preparation
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
