For this finance department leadership role, our client seeks a positive, enthusiastic and outgoing ‘team player’ who possesses a strong work ethic and the ability to take initiative and drive them to success.
They desire a finance leader who will value and add to the ongoing change & growth with their well-established, respected and growing construction / engineering products & services company.
This role is based out of the company’s head office in Richmond, BC.
General Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the company President, the Financial Controller's duties shall include, but not be limited to the following:
- Day to day operations of the company’s finance department, including managing two staff
- Managing core financial duties for the company, its subsidiaries, and affiliates, including financial statement prep and reporting
- Managing banking duties and relationships, and also insurance, lease agreements, and compliance documents for the company’s operations
- Assisting the review of and entering construction contracts on behalf of the company
- Strategic financial planning, with involvement in marketing initiatives and overall corporate direction
- Directing finance department staff for payroll, remittances and returns
- Taking the company’s HR programs that relate to finance, such as employee benefits, employee compensation programs review, and staff vehicle programs, and other HR tasks
Required Financial Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- A CPA, CMA or CA finance designation is required to get consideration for this role
- Demonstrated proficiency in ACCPAC software, and MS Office, including at least an intermediate skill level in Outlook, Word, and Excel, would also be an asset
- 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting, with 3+ years in a finance dept leadership position
- A solid base of experience in financial analysis, forecasting (in conjunction with the sales and operations departments), cash flow review and projections, and supplier costing negotiations and margin review
- Canadian private company financial reporting expertise; experience in the US reporting and financials would be considered a valuable additional skill set
- Experience working with external firms for tax filing and audit processes
- Experience in the construction and / or engineering product industries is an asset, as is contract administration with project partners, suppliers and secondary manufacturing partners
This is a fulltime position
Salary of $85,000 to $95,000 depending on experience.
Benefits package available after 3 months
