Organizational Profile
The Swim BC office is located on the unceded territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən speaking people known today as the Songhees, the SXIMELEL (Esquimalt) and the WSÁNEĆ First Nations.

Swim BC is the Provincial Sport Organization and governing body for competitive swimming in British Columbia. Swim BC provides a diversity of member services and sport governance to over 70 clubs and four university teams, including competitive swimmers that train in each region of the province. Swim BC seeks to support all members of its community through a variety of tools, resources, and opportunities to encourage excellence across the sport and swimming community.

About the Role
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall strategic and operational leadership of this member-driven, non-profit organization. The Executive Director oversees the delivery of Swim BC vision, mission, values and strategic priorities through the development and delivery of member programs and services, financial sustainability, fund development, operations, and advancing relationships with funders, government, volunteers, and community partners. The Executive Director promotes, directs, and fosters the art and science of swimming in BC.

The Executive Director collaborates closely with the Board to advance the Strategic Plan while guiding the organization in the development of current and future plans, policies, goals, objectives, and evaluation measures. They lead the continuous assessment, evolution, and delivery of programs and services, ensuring the organization’s capacity aligns with the changing needs of members and the sector. A key part of the role involves increasing community engagement and raising the organization’s profile to foster collaborative relationships, partnerships, and new opportunities. The Executive Director is also responsible for maintaining existing funding sources while identifying new opportunities to support organizational growth. Additionally, they are committed to building and leading a culture of team well-being, empowering success, and nurturing a positive, supportive workplace environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative, community-minded leader dedicated to the advancement of member inspired, competitive sport. The ideal candidate for the position will have a demonstrated track record in leading and growing a non-profit organization with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a senior management position. The ideal candidate will bring experience in board governance, team leadership, financial and operational oversight. In addition, the next Executive Director will advance organizational capacity through strategic fund development and sector engagement. A combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.

The salary for this position is $125,000-$150,000 supplemented by a total compensation plan.
