Organizational Profile
Sea to Sky Division of Family Practice (the Division) works together with local physicians, health authorities, and other stakeholders from Squamish to Whistler to improve heath care and patient outcomes in their communities. As a non-profit society, the Division is committed to working collaboratively with local physicians, nurse practitioners, health authorities and other stakeholders to improve health care and patient outcomes by: Providing community residents with access to high quality primary care, Increasing family practitioners’ and nurse practitioners and voice in the health care system, Fostering a collegial work environment for healthcare practitioners within the community and enhancing professional fulfillment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director develops and/or leverages strong local, regional, and provincial partnerships and promotes the well-being, involvement, and leadership of physicians and healthcare providers. The Executive Director provides organizational leadership, while building upon the vision of a network of healthy and engaged family physicians driving primary care that is reflective and responsive to their diverse community.
This is an ambitious and engaging opportunity for an experienced leader who is committed to the advancement and supportive primary health care and integrated service delivery. The ideal candidate will bring a collaborative leadership style, with the ability to advocate, negotiate, communicate and problem solve in a complex, multidisciplinary environment, with and among board members, family physicians, health care practitioners and community partners. This position demands a highly organized individual with over five years of progressive leadership experience, who brings interpersonal, financial, governance and strategic planning acumen to the Division table along with a degree in a relevant program area (including, but not limited to, healthcare and / or not-for-profit leadership). This position will model the organization’s commitment to working with their indigenous partners in the spirit of reconciliation and sharing a commitment in the journey towards cultural safety and humility. A combination of education, competencies, and experience will also be considered.
The salary for this position is $135,000 – $150,000 supplemented by a competitive total compensation package. This full-time position that requires living and working within commuting distance to and within the sea to sky corridor between Squamish in Whistler, having a valid drivers license, with the ability to travel and attend meetings outside of regular working hours.
This position requires that the Executive Director actively participate in an annual performance review with the Board of Directors.
