Job Summary
The Team
The Prince Rupert Court Administration team is a close-knit group of professionals bringing extensive experience from various program areas. This established team, consisting of a Manager of Court Administration, a Registry Supervisor, two Justice of the Peace/Registry Technicians, and four Court Clerks, works collaboratively to provide access to justice and ensure timely, high-quality service delivery. With a strong focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion, the team values the unique perspectives of its members while partnering with Sheriffs, Crown Counsel, Judiciary, and Probation to achieve service excellence.
The Role
As an Accounting/Court/Registry Clerk, you'll handle a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of court proceedings, including overseeing trust, revenue, and witness funds, scheduling interpreters, processing invoices, and maintaining accurate case tracking and document management systems. You'll play a vital role in providing courteous, competent service to the public and justice partners, ensuring equitable access to justice. This dynamic role offers a fast-paced environment with diverse responsibilities, where no two days are the same.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).
- Minimum of two (2) years of administrative support or customer service experience; OR, minimum of two (2) years of experience with clerical duties, office experience or related education.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a cashier or in a cash handling role. An equivalent combination of accounting training and/or education may also be considered.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, and working with standard computer applications and software programs (e.g., Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Minimum keyboard speed of 40 words per minute.
- Valid B.C. drivers' licence.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Experience in court programs and applications (e.g., JUSTIN, CEIS, ARC, CTAS, CCD).
- Experience as a Court Clerk and/or Registry Clerk.
- Minimum of one (1) year of previous work experience in a legal environment.
- Completed post-secondary coursework in education in business administration.
