The accounting & finance team has a culture that is collaborative, supportive, and friendly. Headquartered in Downtown Vancouver.

What- the Role:
Our Client seeking a new Corporate Accountant who will be based in the corporate headquarters in Vancouver. Working on an overall accounting & finance team of 40+ people, including folks in treasury, tax, FP&A, and corporate development.  

• Multi-entity corporate financial reporting
• Preparing and consolidating financial statements (up to 20 entities at various levels of activity, multi-currency)
• Contributing directly to closing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end, including liaising closely with external auditors and consultants
• Completing intercompany transactions, elimination entries, and reconciliations
• Supporting the internal tax team and internal treasury team with documentation and data
• Contributing to finance-related projects in the business, including process improvement and system optimization

Who- the Candidate:
We are seeking a dynamic, well-rounded, and proactive Accountant. The selected candidate will have a track record within accounting and financial reporting, ideally with another large, complex, and multi-national business.

• 5+ years’ progressive experience within Accounting and Financial Reporting
• CPA designation (or International equivalent)  
• Experience in a large, complex, multi-entity, and multi-currency company (private or public) is highly preferred
• Foundational training in a multi-national public practice accounting firm is beneficial but not required
• Exposure to US business operations is an asset  
• Systems-
  • Experience working with an ERP system
  • Proficiency in Excel  
• Ability to work cross-functionally across the business and build effective relationships with non-finance colleagues
• Demonstrated desire to understand the relationship between the business operations and the accounting

How Much:
Base salary commensurate with experience and skills, in the range of $80,000 to $95,000 (depending on years of experience, where skills were gained, and when accounting designation was achieved- high reserved for candidates who have all the desired qualifications and many years relevant experience).  The company will provide their new Corporate Accountant with a solid overall compensation package, including a generous profit-sharing/bonus program, CPA professional development support, and excellent health, dental, & vision benefits.  Please discuss your total compensation expectations in further detail with SWIM.

Where:  
This company is headquartered in the heart of Downtown Vancouver in a beautiful corporate office, very close to rapid transit. Full-time in-office work during initial training and onboarding. After that, the Corporate Accountant can choose to work from home up to 2 days a week- as of now, most people on this accounting team choose to work from home Mondays and Fridays.
