Overview
We're looking for co-op student to join our Marketing team for 4 months as a Video Production Assistant. In this role, you'll work closely with the AV and Media Production team to support the development of video and other multimedia to promote workplace health and safety. This position offers hands-on experience in media production while working with a dynamic team in a public sector organization.
Part of the Experience, Communication, Marketing and Insights department, we partner with other divisions to understand and help meet the needs of our stakeholders and our employees. Beginning with research, our Experience and Insights teams develop plans with experience at the heart of their analysis and approach. Our Marketing and Communications teams collaborate to develop effective strategies encompassing channels, messaging, outreach, resources, and campaigns. These strategies are tested, revised, and implemented with an effective measurement plan in place, to enable continuous learning.

Where you'll work
At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.
In this role, you'll work primarily from your B.C. home and be on-site in our Richmond office at a minimum of once per quarter to attend team meeting, but also depending on department needs.
What you'll do
On Day 1 in this role, you will get a chance to meet your manager and get acquainted with your team. You will spend time setting up administrative and technological essentials, and completing onboarding tasks, including security and payroll setup.
During your first week you will engage in a comprehensive onboarding program designed to equip you for success. You will be partnering and meeting with your manager to discuss your goals and align them with the team's vision. Additionally, you will learn how our department contributes to the overall business strategy and supports the organization's mandate. You will also work through the onboarding program alongside your supervisor for added guidance and support.
Assist the media production team with video shoots (call sheets & paperwork, gear arrangement, site coordination, assisting crew and director, lighting & camera setup, etc.)

- Digitizing media
- Archiving & updating previously created video projects)
- Assisting with collection & organization of video gear
- Collaborating with the media production team
- Video editing

- Occasional accompanying the media production team on travel within the Lower Mainland and possibly elsewhere in B.C. (no vehicle necessary)
Is this a good fit for you?
We're looking for someone who can:
- Able to coordinate and assist with multiple ongoing projects, which includes working with deadlines, scheduling, and tracking progress;
- Ability of working effectively with groups of people;
- Working knowledge of common industry equipment, software, and processes for media production and post-production
Your background and experience
- Currently enrolled in a Co-operative education program
- Provide a work sample (does not have to be a finished video project)
- You may include a link to a video project in your cover letter,
- Or another type of work sample from a media project you have collaborated on or have done on your own (could be photo project, writing project - i.e. story boards, video project, etc.),
- Describe the project and what your role on that project was,
- Please include this information in your cover letter or your resume.
- Currently enrolled in film production or digital media production program.
- Previous co-op or relevant work experience is an asset but not a must have,

Importa nt to know

- Confirm you will be residing in BC for the entire duration of the work term
- Confirm you're a registered student at a post-secondary institution and is participating in a work integrated learning program
