Job Summary

The Team
The Heritage Branch is a branch of 17dedicated to the recognition, conservation, and celebration of tangible and intangible heritage values across British Columbia. Through managing provincial heritage properties and collections, supporting community-led heritage initiatives, and overseeing fossil management and geographical naming programs, the branch ensures that BC's diverse heritage is protected and made accessible to the public. With a focus on community engagement, policy development, and stewardship, the Heritage Branch plays a vital role in safeguarding the province's cultural legacy for future generations.

The Role
As the Administrative Assistant, you will provide comprehensive administrative, secretarial, and financial support for the Heritage branch. This role involves coordinating daily activities, managing records, handling financial forms, and liaising with ministry executive offices, with a primary focus on CCFs and contracts. Additionally, you will support the Director and Executive Director as needed, manage general communications, and utilize tools like Cliff and eApprovals to facilitate operations.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • One (1) year clerical/administrative support experience in an office environment.
  • One (1) year experience using Microsoft Office computer applications (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel), including preparation of spreadsheets.
  • Experience in filing or records management.


Preference may be given to candidates with:
  • Related post-secondary education or training. Related education or training may include accounting, business administration, bookkeeping, or related fields.
  • Experience in contract administrative support.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
