Job Summary

The Team
The permitting and Transformation Division - FrountCounter BC - Thompson Okanagan is a dynamic and supportive team dedicated to streamlining the permit application process for the natural resource sector. This established group, including Natural Resource Specialists, Clients Services Representatives, and Fish and Wildlife Clerks, works together in a close-knit environment. The team operates a one-stop-shop for clients seeking to submit permit applications across various provincial agencies, including Land, Water, Forests, Agriculture Recreation Sites and Trails, and more. The camaraderie and mutual support within the team are evident, with members deeply committed to their roles, their colleagues, and the environment.

The Role
The Client Services Representative provides client service and financial/resource administration services for FrontCounter BC and ministry regional operations. Specifically, service is delivered to clients of the provincial government who require support in exploring opportunities and applying for access to crown resources.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Grade 12 graduation or GED
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a customer service environment, which must include the following:
  • Providing client/customer service to a diverse range of individuals, organizations, and industries
  • Experience providing client/customer service in confrontational or sensitive situations
  • A minimum of 2 years of face-to-face customer service
  • Word processing, creating spreadsheets and working with standard computer applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:
  • 5 or more years experience in a customer service environment
  • Experience working in Teams
  • Experience working in a natural resource management field.
  • Experience working in a regulated or policy/legislation governed environment.
  • Experience with conflict resolution and negotiation in a policy regulated environment.
  • Additional post-secondary education in the Natural Resource sector

PROVISO
  • Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service, which may include a criminal records check, and/or Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) check, and/or enhanced security screening checks as required by the ministry (Note: It is important that you read the job posting carefully to understand the specific security screening requirements pertaining to the position).

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 1 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
