Job Summary

The Team
The Air and Rail team plays a key role in the Programs area of the Clean Transportation and Programs Branch at the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. The Programs area consists of twelve dedicated team members, with seven reporting to the Grant Programs Manager and three to the Air/Rail Manager. The branch is dedicated to planning and implementing initiatives that enhance air policy, support active transportation, and advance climate action. The work includes developing programs and policies to improve the safety and accessibility of various transportation modes, from cycling and aviation to reducing emissions in the marine, road, and trucking sectors.

The Role
The Senior Policy Analyst, reporting to the Air/Rail Manager, is essential in shaping and implementing policies for the air and rail sectors, from initial concept to final evaluation, including transportation policy development in areas outside provincial jurisdiction. This role involves working closely with various departments within the ministry, across government, and with external partners to develop and deliver key transportation programs. Building strong relationships and fostering collaboration are key for success in this position.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements


• Master's Degree in business, law, public administration, economics or related discipline and a minimum of 2 years' *related experience; OR
• Bachelor's Degree in business, law, public administration, economics or related discipline and a minimum of 3 years' * related experience; OR
• Diploma in business, law, public administration, economics or related discipline and a minimum of 5 years' *related experience; OR
• An equivalent combination of education and a minimum of 7 years of *related experience.

*Related experience may include any of the following:
• Experience in the development of legislation, regulation and/or policy.
• Experience in planning and coordinating complex projects/assignments.
• Experience in concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents/content.
• Experience providing written and/or verbal advice to senior decision makers.

About this Position:
Currently there is one (1) permanent opportunity available in Victoria.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
