HPHS is responsible for core service/policy development for specialized services (Wait Times, Surgical Services, Diagnostic Imaging, Cancer Care, Hospital, Acute & Provincial Services) while ensuring a strong linkage to transformation activities and ensuring consistent and coordinated delivery of specialized services to patients. The Cancer Care Branch (CCB) offers policy support, oversight, evaluation, and strategic direction for the cancer care system in BC. This is a fairly new team that is responsible for providing policy and program advice, managing issues related to cancer services provided by BC Cancer, PHSA, and regional health authorities. Team members work closely with a variety of professionals including policy advisors, program managers, consultants, strategic directors, Results Management Office, and health service administrators. The CCB plays a leading role in the Ministry's efforts on BC's 10-Year Cancer Action Plan, a key commitment under the Ministry of Health mandate, making a significant impact on the quality and coordination of cancer care across the province. CCB adopts a collaborative approach and plays a pivotal role in advancing cancer care initiatives that have far-reaching benefits for patients and the healthcare system.

The Role
