Job Summary
The Team
The District Management Team is a dedicated group managing critical functions such as budgeting, HR, service planning, and performance measurement. Together, the team addresses complex and sensitive issues, providing strategic advice and solutions to ensure the smooth operation of district and area offices, while navigating emerging challenges and implementing best practices that reflect diverse perspectives and community needs.
The Role
The District Services Manager is a key member of the District Management Team, providing services and advice to the District Office, satellite office, and a variety of customers/clients. Working in a dynamic and emerging environment with limited resources, the District Service Manager provides expert advice on the management of emerging and controversial issues to the district manager, and uses influence and knowledge to ensure best management practices are adopted and utilized.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work 2 or more days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.

Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Public Sector Management or a related field and one (1) year of related experience; OR
- Diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Public Sector Management or a related field and three (3) years related* experience; OR
- Grade 12 or GED and five (5) years of related experience; OR
- An Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered; AND
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License;
Related experience must include the following:
- Experience managing and leading projects and/or project components
- Experience providing direct support of senior/executive staff
Preference may be given to applicants with experience in;
- Experience hiring, leading or supervising, and training staff
Provisos:
- May be required to participate in Emergency Management BC response.
