Accountant

Contract opportunity with a large technology company with global operations. Quick interview process and almost immediate start date. This is a great role for an Accountant who wants to work for a complex and interesting company. Working with a tight-knit accounting team. Candidates must have at least 3 years and ideally 5+ years of progressive multi-entity accounting work experience.

What- the Role:
Our client seeking a new Accountant to join their tightknit team at a corporate office in Surrey.  The Accountant will be responsible for general day-to-day accounting functions including month/quarter/year end support, financial reporting, financial statement preparation, internal controls (SOX) reporting, journal entries, variance analysis and account reconciliations, reviewing AP and AR, etc. This is a well-rounded and diverse role that is well-suited to a Senior Accountant who is hands-on and likes contributing to most areas of the accounting & finance function. Working on a tightknit team of 7+ people on the accounting team in the Surrey office. This is a contract role that is open due to the upcoming leave of one of the permanent employees. It is hard to predict the length of the contract right now, but at least 3 months and quite possibly up to 6 months. There is a possibility of a permanent headcount opening up in future, based on business needs and growth. 

Who- the Candidate:
We are looking for an individual with at least 3 years (preferably 5+ years) of full-cycle accounting work experience withing multi-entity, multi-currency, and complex business operations. CPA designation highly preferred, but candidates who are actively pursuing CPA and will be designated soon will also be seriously considered. Experience with accounting for US operations is highly preferred, as is experience with a public company and SOX compliance. We are looking for people who are systems savvy and proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, V look-ups, etc.) is required. Ideally candidates will have used a few different ERPs/financial systems, and experience working at a company going through a system conversion or implementation is a plus! Qualified candidates will have a friendly, clear, and professional communication style.

How Much:
Competitive hourly contracting rate commensurate with level of relevant skills, experience, and education, likely in the range of $32 to $44 an hour.   

Where: HYBRID.
The company is headquartered in Surrey. Close to various bus lines, and nearby free parking. 3 days/week in office during initial training, then 2 days/week in office after that.
