Student Assistant - Software and Hardware Assistance

Reports to: Manager User Support Services

Summary: The student will assist faculty and staff in the basic operation of software and hardware in faculty and staff offices.

Principal Duties:
  • Assist faculty and staff in the basic operation of software applications.
  • Assist faculty and staff in the basic operation of Kwantlen Systems like email, on­ line course tools etc.
  • Assist faculty and staff in the basic operation of new peripherals like digital cameras and scanners.

Requirements:
  • Successful completion of introductory computing courses.
  • General understanding of PC hardware and software.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good command of written and spoken English

Salary Information

Student Assistants are paid as per the following:

Less than one year of post-secondary (less than 30 credits) - BC Minimum Wage

One year of post-secondary (30-60 credits) - BC Minimum Wage plus 8%

With a post-secondary diploma or degree - BC Minimum Wage plus 21%
