Job Summary

The Team
MCFD's community-based Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) team is a dedicated group of experienced clinicians, including full-time and part-time professionals, and a supportive team leaders. Together, we bring energy, expertise, and a commitment to knowledge-sharing, working alongside families and community partners to deliver wrap-around support for children, youth, and their families. The Role
In this role, you will provide direct clinical services, including intake, assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention for children, youth, and families. You will collaborate with community agencies, schools, hospitals, and other ministry programs while conducting individual, group, and family therapy. Your work will support mental health and wellness and positive outcomes within the community of Tri Cities. As part of this team of dedicated and compassionate professionals, you will make a lasting impact on the lives of young people and their families.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Masters in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master's level in a similar subject may be considered.
    • NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services ( ICES ). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
  • Minimum of 1 year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services. Applicants with less than one year of experience may be considered if the applicant has completed a practicum within CYMH, but at a lower classification.
  • Applicants who are in the process of graduating and will have completed their practicum with MCFD and academic coursework in 2024 may be considered, but at a lower classification.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver's license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).


Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
  • Two years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
  • Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.
  • Applicants with work experience in Early Psychosis Intervention, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, or Infant and Early Childhood.
