Horizon Recruitment Inc. has been engaged by a global manufacturing client to recruit a dynamic Senior Product Manager to become part of their team based in Langley, BC.

Our client designs and manufactures solutions for power generation and automation, including automatic transfer switches for diverse voltage applications. Part of a larger organization with worldwide reach, they leverage extensive resources to deliver sustainable, efficient power management products across industries such as manufacturing and industrial equipment. Their advanced offerings, from electric motors to automation components, support critical systems in sectors like aerospace, agriculture, and energy, promoting quality and operational efficiency. This position reports directly to the General Manager. In addition to managing the global Switchgear segment of our client’s business, the SWGR Product Line Manager will have the freedom to shape the future of the switchgear product line from both a technological and strategic angle, while also propelling market expansion and driving profitable growth. We are evaluating candidates from across Canada on either a full time onsite, hybrid or remote basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Formulate, develop, and execute innovative growth plans for the switchgear business segment.
  • Develop top-tier go-to-market strategies to boost market growth and expand market presence.
  • Shape the future of the switchgear product line by crafting a market-leading product roadmap. Support product sustainability with aftermarket offerings.
  • Lead marketing efforts to foster commercial growth in targeted regions.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration among key external stakeholders to meet annual financial targets.
  • Ensure the product meets standards for safety, quality, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with both operational and commercial teams to reach annual financial goals.
  • Gain deep insights into market dynamics to identify growth opportunities by addressing market gaps and customer needs.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, inclusiveness, engagement, accountability, transparency, and high performance.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in the Power Generation or a similar industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of SWGR products and an understanding of market dynamics in the SWGR segment.
  • An innovative and practical mindset, with strong leadership skills.
  • Passion for technology, innovation, and customer engagement.
  • Responsible, self-driven, with a high standard of work ethic, effective time management, and strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Team player with the ability to work effectively with various cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to lead a technical team and manage a stage-gate product development process.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to travel within North America.

Compensation:

  • The base salary for this role ranges from $130,000 to $140,000, complemented by a competitive variable bonus and a generous benefits package.
