Expected Salary Range: $123,334.00 - $154,169.00 - $192,710.00

In our recently completed fiscal year, BCLC generated a record $1.6 billion in net income to the Province of B.C. to support First Nations, local host governments, health care, education and community programs across the province.

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, iGaming Business Development is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to advance BCLC's ability to compete in the iGaming market and optimize growth and revenue. This role will achieve operational excellence, drive product innovation, and utilize data analytics to enhance iGaming products while also leading the ability for BCLC to compete and succeed in the iGaming market. The Senior Manager will work closely with various stakeholders to build and maintain high-profile relationships and support continuous improvement in iGaming operations.

This position will be responsible for leading our iGaming business in three jurisdictions and will oversee the B2B operations for Manitoba and Saskatchewan, providing leadership and strategic direction to ensure alignment with BCLC corporate objectives. The Senior Manager, iGaming Business Development will drive the growth of PlayNow (iGaming business) and provide strategic leadership to our B2B operations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Develops and implements business strategies to achieve operational excellence, drive product innovation, and utilize data analytics while leading the strategy, development, and management of iGaming products and digital platforms including all websites and native applications.
  • Champions and leads the development and maintenance of industry expertise in the iGaming space, setting an example while actively educating and developing the knowledge and skills of the broader iGaming team and the organization.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of current BCLC strategies and works closely with multiple internal stakeholders in relation to B2B and Business Development partners to ensure strategic alignment and collaboration to leverage cross channel business and player opportunities.
  • Fosters strong, productive, and positive relationships with key B2B customers as well as cross-functional stakeholders within BCLC, Service Partner senior management and external stakeholders including the public/players, vendor/suppliers, regulatory and government bodies.
  • Manages significant budgets for operating, capital and direct costs. Oversees operational budget, develops and manages business case investments for new initiatives/expenditures, approves financial decisions and sets revenue and P&L targets.
  • Provides exemplary people leadership and strategic direction to the iGaming Business team by championing BCLC's vision, mission, and values, while ensuring the continual development of the technical and people skills required to meet corporate and department objectives.
  • Exemplifies leadership behaviours that support engagement of staff such as practicing meaningful recognition, inspiring a shared vision, communicating with staff regularly, coaching/mentoring others, conducting performance conversations, and supporting culture and change management initiatives.
  • Acts as a delegate for their Director as required.
QUALIFICATIONS

A combination of education, experience, and demonstrated skills may be considered.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • A Bachelor degree in business, or related discipline;
  • 7 to 8 years of relevant experience in online gaming, including significant experience planning, developing and executing strategies and initiatives for the player account and platform technology;
  • 3 to 5 years experience managing multiple vendor relationships including contract negotiation and service level management.
KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Demonstrated understanding of player behavior and player strategy in an online environment;
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment;
  • Excellent strategic orientation with an ability to find innovative yet practical strategies to achieve goals and to link several strategies into a unified, future-focused plan;
  • Exceptional analytical skills;
  • Advanced technical writing skills, and able to write reports and document procedures;
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Preferred qualifications may include:
  • Advanced understanding of the B.C. and Canadian gaming industry is an asset.
  • Understanding of Agile methodology or experience working with a cross-functional team environment would be an asset.
