The expected base salary range for this position is $105,000 to $175,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. What you will do
- Lead and contribute to the completion of forensic dispute engagements, specifically in damages quantification for commercial disputes at court or arbitration.
- Working closely with the Partners in providing client service and carrying out the day-to-day fieldwork on a variety of investigative assignments. This includes achieving quality and timeliness of working papers and deliverables. The candidate will often be responsible for managing several engagements and multiple priorities at a time.
- Lead forensic accounting investigation mandates such as financial fraud investigations, fraud prevention, forensic accounting examinations, calculating and analyzing claims for financial losses, providing forensic advisory services, preparing financial data and tracking funds/transactions and supporting forensic in the audit.
- Performing detailed and often complex financial analysis, analyze financial data, examine supporting documents, perform in-depth research and conduct forensic accounting investigation engagements concerning, for instance, asset misappropriations, financial statement fraud, and conflicts of interest.
- Prepare and implement investigative workplans concerning sensitive litigation cases and impartially analyze complex financial issues.
- Assisting with interviews of people who have knowledge of, or are allegedly involved in, fraud or misconduct or other engagement related matters.
- Preparing file documentation and ensure appropriate and timely document overseeing.
- Contribute to preparation of written reports summarizing our investigation procedures and findings. Assisting in establishing and monitoring project budgets, ensuring timely billing and collections, etc.
- Assisting the Partners in new client evaluations, engagement acceptance and other related risk management practices.
- Regularly participating in marketing and business development at a Sr. Manager level; this will include developing your professional network, attending networking events, writing articles, preparing and delivering presentations and other activities to raise your profile within the business community, and supporting the Partners with business development initiatives.
- Minimum of ten years' experience in a related field (forensic accounting, audit, investigation, damages quantification, insurance claims, vendor/supplier due diligence, contract compliance, and/or business valuations), including at least four years specializing in forensic.
- CPA designation
- Forensic specialization with a complementary professional designation such as CBV, CFA, CFE, ACFCS, or CFF
- The ability to work self-guided with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze large amounts of data/information.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access). Additionally, experience with data metrics, SQL database and/or eDiscovery software such as Relativity is an asset.
- Excellent research and analytical skills with the ability to identify and define issues in a clear and articulate manner, and develop creative solutions to meet client needs.
- Ability to produce concise and structured client presentations and reports.
- Ability to perform well under pressure, managing multiple projects, resources, and budgets appropriately.
