What you can expect to do here:
  • Develop and refine geological models to support resource estimation;
  • Estimate mineral resources with precision and accuracy;
  • Conduct thorough site investigations and audits to ensure compliance and quality standards;
  • Lead quality assurance and quality control reviews on various projects;
  • Contribute to and critically review technical reports and studies;
  • Collaborate on the preparation and definition of scope for geological mining studies including Preliminary Economic Assessments (PEA), Pre-Feasibility Studies (PFS) and Feasibility Studies (FS);
  • Drive business growth by promoting WSP's capabilities and attracting new clients;
  • Attend and participate in client meetings, field reviews, and project oversight, often on short notice and across various locations;
  • Perform additional duties as required to support project success.

What you'll bring to WSP:
  • Bachelor Degree in geology from a recognized university and/or equivalent qualification;
  • Minimum 10+ years of resource estimation experience in a variety of commodities and deposit types, preferably within a consulting environment;
  • Registered as a Professional Geologist in Canada or equivalent;
  • Familiar with international and public disclosure and reporting codes, including NI 43-101, S-K 1300, JORC, SAMREC, SME Guide, Competent Persons Reports, Mineral Resource Reports, etc.;
  • Skills in geostatistics and resources estimations;
  • Knowledge of mining fundamentals and techniques, rock mechanics, and mineral processing;
  • Excellent knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling software, mapping & geological database software: Datamine, Surpac, Minesight, Vulcan, Leapfrog Geo, Isatis, etc.;
  • Knowledge and experience with scripts and macros;
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues and clients in a professional and technical manner;
  • Flexibility to travel as required for project work;
  • Fluent in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work and complete tasks with limited supervision, make informed decisions, and take responsibility on technical matters;
  • Possess a team player attitude and be able to work in project team environment.

Compensation

Salary Range (in British Colombia): $99,500 - 136,800

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
