KPMG is looking for a Senior Business Manager for our Information Technology Services (ITS) team. This role is responsible for managing core business operational processes that cover Financial Management, Planning, Forecasting and Reporting (working closely with the Finance Business Partner), FinOps Cloud Cost Management, as well as Executive and Operational support.

The Senior Business Manager will be responsible for managing a budget portfolio of $100M plus while ensuring that IT projects, initiatives, and daily activities are conducted within budget and in line with ITS strategy. You will support the CIO and the ITS Leadership in executing organizational initiatives and making fiscally responsible decisions.

What you will do
  • Budget Development and Management: Work with ITS leadership to develop annual budgets that support business objectives, monitoring spending closely to prevent overruns, and identify opportunities for savings.
  • Financial Analysis and Forecasting: Conduct financial analysis to forecast IT expenditures, capital requirements, and operational costs, providing actionable insights to ITS Leadership.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure that IT financial practices adhere to the Firm's policies, advise and guide on proper accounting for IT spending related to technology and resourcing.
  • Project Portfolio Management: Work closely with the Finance team and ITS stakeholders to bring rigour to the Financial Management of ITS Projects Portfolio.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Work with the ITS Leadership to develop financial analysis and cost modelling of proposed IT investments to assess the financial impact and feasibility within budget constraints.
  • Cloud Cost Management (FinOps): Oversee the Cloud Financial Operations including monthly cost allocation, budget and forecast. Maintain financial and dashboard reporting for KPIs. Work with the FinOps team members to further the adoption of FinOps practice in the Firm.
  • Provide Executive support for presentations and decision making around financials.
  • Support the administration of HR processes and policies in ITS, including pay planning and working closely with the HR team.

What you bring to the role
  • 7+ years of experience in financial management, with at least 5 years of experience focused on IT financial management (planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting).
  • Professional accounting designation.
  • Professional experience evaluating the financial implications of IT decisions and the impact to IT infrastructure, software, and systems.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting complex financial data and translating insights into actionable recommendations. Strong coordination and management skills.
  • Understanding of project management principles, with a particular focus on budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Experience with Software License Management and Cost Allocations.
  • Ability to communicate financial information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft tools (i.e., Excel).
  • Experience in Cloud Cost Management (FinOps) Cloud Cost Tools (e.g., IBM/Apptio Cloudability and Total Cost)
