Job Summary

Reporting to the respective Talent & Culture Manager(s), the Project Coordinator provides support and analytical expertise for the implementation of programs and projects. Utilizes project management tools and presentation software to support planning, decision-making, evaluation, and creation of reports. Plans, coordinates and facilitates project meetings and program events. Coordinates and influences the program evaluation plans and metrics reporting, by collecting and analyzing data, developing themes, providing recommendations and identifying risks supported by complex analysis and reporting to ensure organization-wide and departmental objectives are met. Works independently as the project interface between Talent & Culture, VCH leadership at all levels, vendors, external consultants, and other health authorities as appropriate. As a member of the People department, contributes to shaping and supporting a values based organizational culture of learning, caring and results.

As a Project Coordinator, Leadership Development & Supports with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Identify and understand key issues relating to the respective projects through development, review and assessment of project documentation, including tracking timelines and deliverables through measurement of KPIs. Facilitate project meetings and Advisory Committees.
  • Conduct complex analysis and research to support planning, performance and outcome measurement for special initiatives, programs, and projects through benchmarking, charting, measurement activities, interpreting the data and reporting on the findings and recommendations.
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests for information and analysis by researching and gathering information required, manipulating database fields, navigating internal systems, pulling reports, preparing spreadsheets, tables, charts, graphs, reports and presentations as required to summarize information.
  • Provide administrative support for the respective project(s) and their key stakeholders as required, including: meeting coordination, scheduling, and recommendations on budget management.
  • Coordinate communication plans for key stakeholders and keeps team notified of status.
  • Support a diverse team from planning through implementation and evaluation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration or in a field related to the specific project(s), supplemented by a minimum of three (3) years’ recent, related financial analysis and planning experience in a large, complex service organization or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience in three distinct areas must be exhibited: financial analysis, project planning/management and technical expertise relating to the specific project(s).

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Comprehensive technical expertise, project/process management, financial analytical skills and business acumen.
  • Effectively and accurately responds to the needs of stakeholders and is acutely aware of the impact of decisions and actions on the organization and various stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication as well as facilitation skills to work effectively in a team setting and with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify issues, and to develop and analyze solutions to resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current advanced word processing, graphics presentation, and spreadsheet computer applications to prepare reports and presentations.
  • Results-oriented within a high-pressure working environment with numerous critical timelines.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
