Overview

Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Business Product Management, the People & Culture (P&C) Product Owner will provide expertise in the technical business ownership of talent systems that support the Talent and Organizational Effectiveness team. This includes talent acquisition and talent management solutions such as Oracle HCM Cloud (Fusion), Oracle PeopleSoft, and other HRIS systems, as well as custom-built solutions, interfaces, and related People & Culture data. This role bridges the gap between business needs and technology, driving initiatives aligned with WorkSafeBC's strategic objectives.

You bring extensive experience and a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end talent acquisition and talent management business processes, data, and systems throughout the talent life cycle. Your expertise includes leading and collaborating with teams to implement new systems and modules, managing integrations, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. These efforts support the organization's goal of identifying, developing, and retaining top talent. Experience with the Oracle HCM Cloud (Fusion) Talent Management suite is considered an asset.

In this role, you'll build and maintain relationships internally and externally at all levels of the organization, partnering closely with key stakeholders while ensuring that confidential and sensitive management information related to WorkSafeBC's operations are handled with discretion and tact.

Where you'll work

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you'll work primarily from our Richmond office, with some flexibility to work from your home in B.C.

What you'll do

As a Product Owner you will:
  • Lead the configuration, testing, implementation, and technical ownership of the Oracle HCM Cloud - Talent Management suite and other related technology projects, ensuring end-to-end business data and process alignment with organizational and divisional priorities.
  • Gather, document, and analyze critical business and technical requirements from multiple perspectives and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with vendors, I&T resources, and implementation partners to deploy talent management and talent acquisition systems and interfaces.
  • Participate in the prioritization of enhancement requests and projects for talent acquisition and talent management and for the broader P&C systems roadmap.
  • Develop training materials, user guides, and videos to support systems adoption and ongoing use of the systems.
  • Present to senior management on P&C system projects and updates.
  • Foster a service-oriented culture by providing effective solutions and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in planning activities with the P&C management team.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring to provide assurance of value and ongoing optimization of the talent management/acquisition suite of products.

We're looking for someone who can:
  • Lead change and improvement through creative problem-solving and strategic thinking, leveraging Oracle HCM Cloud - Talent Management capabilities to enhance talent acquisition and talent management processes.
  • Proactively identify trends, issues, or opportunities in the talent acquisition and talent management business processes and system functionality.
  • Lead projects from inception to completion, monitoring progress and ensuring deadlines are met and project goals are achieved.
  • Recommend future processes and system integration aligned to departmental and divisional vision and strategies.
  • Map out priorities, processes, responsibilities, stakeholders, related systems and tools.
  • Define and manage priorities, processes, responsibilities, and stakeholder communication for talent acquisition and management projects.
  • Facilitate the quality assurance of system processes and data.
  • Conduct current and future state gap analysis.
  • Optimize the functionality and integration of Oracle HCM Cloud - Talent Management modules to enhance talent acquisition and talent management processes.

Your background and experience
  • A degree in Information Technology or Business Management or related discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years of recent, related experience in product management and/or people technology and in a leadership capacity
  • Previous experience implementing a talent acquisition/management SaaS suite and other HRIS solutions
  • Expertise in Oracle HCM Cloud - Talent Management suite an asset
  • Certified Product Manager (CPM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) an asset

Salary: $116,186 - $141,166/annually
