Pediatric Plastic Surgeon

British Columbia Children's Hospital is seeking a fellowship trained pediatric plastic and reconstructive surgeon interested in a career at a pediatric academic health science center with a focus on excellence in clinical care, teaching and research. Sub-specialty training and experience in pediatric craniofacial surgery will be an asset but is not an absolute requirement for this position.
Qualifications
Applicants should be eligible for specialty certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
The successful candidate will fill a new, full-time contract position at British Columbia Children's
Hospital, joining a team of seven full or part-time pediatric plastic surgeons. This candidate will have a broad range of competencies in pediatric plastic surgery to enable full participation in a combined craniofacial and general pediatric plastic surgery practice including hands, burns, vascular anomalies and trauma, and will be recommended for an appointment to the University of British Columbia's Department of Surgery (Division of Plastic Surgery) at a rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
A background or advanced training in clinical research, quality improvement or surgical education is desirable.
Candidates with inclusive leadership and management skills, and interest in supporting career development of others may wish to be considered for appointment as Head of the Division of Pediatric Plastic Surgery.
