Are you a Software Developer interested in leading the implementation of provincial solutions that will make a difference to the health and safety of healthcare workers?

As a Software Developer, you will have an opportunity to work as part of a team of dedicated to bringing our products from vision to fruition.

What you'll do
  • Ensure operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, and proposed solutions.
  • Document and demonstrate your solutions through flowcharts, diagrams, code comments and clear code.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve goals.
  • Make informed decisions quickly and take ownership of assigned work.
  • Apply your creative problem-solving skills to address emergent challenges.

As our successful candidate, you will also:
  • Plan, design and develop highly available enterprise applications.
  • User continuous delivery practices to improve software delivery speed.
  • Work in a collaborative, product-focused team to build innovative customer experiences.
  • Effectively communicate with non-technical audiences
  • Create large-scale systems out of microservices.
  • Use the following:
  • Front-end
    • Chart.js
    • Angular
    • HTML
    • CSS
    • Able to translate mock-ups to web pages and request/consume data from RESTful API
  • Back-end
    • .NET framework
    • Entity framework
    • UnitOfWork design pattern
    • RESTful API development
    • MS SQL Server design/development
    • SQL/LINQ
    • AD/ADFS/OpenID

What you bring

Qualifications
Bring a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science or related discipline, plus a minimum of five to seven (5-7) years' recent related experience in architecture planning, design, development, and delivery of highly available enterprise applications. Coding and designing solutions using Microsoft stack.

  • As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

Job Type: Casual full-time hours (37.5 hours per week)

Wage: $33.00 - $43.00/hour - as a casual employee, total earnings include an additional 13% in lieu of benefits and paid vacation. The rate for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate's relevant education and experience and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan.
