Position Summary

The Manager, Acute Care Services is responsible for the management, leadership and coordination of services for the areas within the assigned portfolio. This includes responsibility for the management of staff and resources and the provision of leadership and consultative advice in clinical care, operational and administrative activities of the service(s); ensuring that services are delivered and implemented in an effective and efficient manner and meeting established strategic directions and organizational initiatives and objectives in a manner aligned with the organization's culture, values and strategic direction.
• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing plus five (5) years recent related experience plus post basic education in management, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Starting salary will be approximately from $146,529 to $159,875 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.
Prince Rupert Regional Hospital is a 24-bed facility that sees an average of 22,000 ER visits per year. It is a fully equipped facility with Medical Imaging, Laboratory, ICU, ER and Maternity. Services include:
• Acute Care
• Internal medicine
• Internal Medicine
• Ultrasound
• CT scans
• Surgery
• Emergency department
• Extended care
• Pediatrics
• Radiology
• Obstetrics
• Gynecology
Additional services such as Diabetes Education, Healthy Heart and Rehabilitation, Podiatry, Orthopedics, and other visiting specialists.
Prince Rupert is a marine-based port city with one-of-a-kind wilderness exploration and wildlife viewing experiences on northwest BC's Pacific Coast. It's also a popular stop on various Alaskan cruises. Located 721 km (447 miles) west of Prince George on Highway 16, Prince Rupert is the land, air, and water transportation hub of British Columbia's North Coast, and home to 13,500 people. Qualfications
• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing plus five (5) years recent related experience plus post basic education in management, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

• Knowledge of a multidisciplinary team approach involved in the coordination of care in a complex environment and system of care services.
• Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and delegate.
