You have an acute attention to detail, communicate with credibility and confidence and have an uncanny knack of avoiding problems from occurring. You maintain the highest safety standards, have excellent organizational ability, and you say what needs to be said while still maintaining a professional manner. As our Log Scaler, you will be responsible for the safety inspection and weighing of all trucks entering the plant. You will inspect logs for compliance with specifications assigned to the plant site and estimate and record average log length and stem count.

A day in the life of a Log Scaler includes:
• Safely inspecting and weighing all trucks entering the plant across the scales
• Scaling logs as per the BC Interior Scaling Manual
• Uploading samples to HBS
• Inspecting logs for compliance with specifications assigned to the plant site
• Communicating and directing traffic flow of trucks loading and unloading at the plant site
• Communicating plant safety rules to all drivers
• Preparing daily and weekly reports on log receipts
• Assisting with inventory processes
• Providing training and mentorship to Weighmasters
• Assisting Manufacturing Quality Staff with plant quality control and waste and residue program

For this role, you come equipped with:
• Great communication skills and ability to provide mentorship and training
• Being a self-starter and have the ability to work independently with little supervision
• Lifting up to 10lbs regularly, lifting 25lbs occasionally, and lifting up 50lbs as needed
• Experience with scales and record keeping
• Log Quality identification experience
• BC Interior Scaling License
