As the Lead, People Systems, you're responsible for prioritizing and monitoring Canfor's HR Technology initiatives. You'll work in collaboration with the Manager, People Systems & Analytics, Information Technology, and HR partners ensure alignment on process, priorities and technology platforms. You'll also oversee a team of functional analyst and manage cross-functional initiatives to deliver "best-in-class" integrated solutions. You also excel in building collaborative partnerships to influence change and challenge the status quo.

The salary range for this position is: $108,000.00-$135,000.00

A day in the life of the Lead, People Systems includes:
People Management
- Provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to a team of functional analyst that support people systems (example: UKG & Success Factors)
- Manage day to day activities of functional analysts by project and task assignment, estimation and prioritization to optimize performance of team
- Work with the Manager, People Systems and Analytics to conduct work/demand planning for HR technology projects
Vendor Management
- Manage the relationships of AMS providers and consultants that provide technical support for HR Technology
- Prioritize and escalate tickets based on business impact and urgency
- Monitor usage of consultant hours to optimize value and support
Business Analysis & Planning for Initiatives
- Work collaboratively with the IT, HR and the business to ensure alignment on process, priorities and technology platforms.
- Develop Business Capability and/or Process Maps for Canfor's HR Shared Services departments to help with prioritization of digital initiatives.
- Partner with cross-functional HR leaders and stakeholders to lead and support organizational engagement and buy-in of the design and execution of digital initiatives
- Provide regular communications, status reports and presentations to the executive steering committees and other stakeholders as appropriate
- Evaluate and prioritize the digital HR transformation initiatives, developing business cases and value propositions that demonstrate the benefits and return on investment
- Partner with HR leaders to implement enabling process and people capabilities to drive and sustain the future of how we operate
- Oversee the design and implementation of digital solutions that optimize business processes, enhance customer experience, and enable data-driven decision making
- Support the Manager, People Systems and Analytics in managing and fostering the business relationships with key stakeholders
- Liaise with internal technology teams and external knowledge networks to identify leading practices and best-in-class digital solutions
- Lead cross-functional facilitation and collaboration with HR leaders to articulate requirements and design the future of how we operate
- Partner with IT and external consultants in the delivery of initiatives to ensure desired business outcomes and objectives are met
- Provide services in facilitation, evaluation of business processes and problem-solving to develop cohesive recommendations and insights
- Monitor and evaluate the performance and impact of digital solutions, identifying areas for improvement and best practices
- Support the digital transformation initiatives by through facilitation, process mapping, design workshops and identification of metrics and KPI's
- Prepare project deliverables including, but not limited to, current state analysis, future state recommendations, process documentation, preparation of workshop materials, business enablement plan & supporting materials, etc.
- Partner with Change Management practitioners to define and assess change implications, including advisory support to drive buy-in and sustainment of the change
For this role, you'll come equipped with:
- University degree in business, technology or process related area with a leaning towards deployment of digital transformation, innovative technologies and continuous improvement
- 5+ years in business analysis or digital transformation
- MBA or equivalent is an asset.
- IIBA Certification in Business Analysis is an asset
- Proficient "story-teller" with a demonstrated ability to build strategic narratives to facilitate alignment and decision-making across all levels within the organization and at the executive-level
- Ability to work across the organization to influence others and build commitment to a recommended direction while managing all stakeholders
- Flexibility and propensity to embrace ambiguity and resilience to change
- Program management experience and exceptional organizational skills
- Passion for seeking out innovative trends and opportunities; thinking about ways to improve business capabilities
- Effective engagement with external stakeholders and consultants
