Our geophysics team is growing, and we are looking to fill a Junior role in the Vancouver Region.
This role involves participating in diverse geophysical surveys across the province and country. We are seeking candidates with a strong aptitude for fieldwork and a background in earth sciences. You will gain exposure to major engineering, mining, and environmental projects while working on cross-disciplinary teams.

Salary range (in British Columbia): $60000 - $75000

What you can expect to do here:
- Conduct shallow ground geophysical surveys using Seismic Refraction, MASW, Electrical Resistivity Imaging, Magnetics, Ground Penetrating Radar, Electromagnetics, and Microgravity methods on land, in boreholes, and over water.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily.

- Process and interpret data with industry-standard geophysical software.
- Maintain and calibrate geophysical equipment.
- Assist in writing technical reports, including data visualization.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Demonstrate a \"Safety First\" approach and serve as a role model for others.
What you'll bring to WSP:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Earth Sciences (Geophysics courses preferred).
- Equivalent years or relevant field experience will be considered for a technician role.
- 0 to 3 years of relevant experience, with fieldwork required.
- Familiarity with operating scientific equipment in remote locations.
- Ability to travel (30-70%) and work in outdoor, remote areas across Canada.
- Comfortable driving in remote, off-road areas and using vehicles such as UTVs, ATVs, ARGO, snowmobiles; safety and competency training provided.
- Physical fitness, mechanical aptitude, and experience with electronics.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to achieve project goals.
- Basic technical writing, office automation, and software proficiency.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, including adherence to WSP's health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
- Flexibility to work beyond typical hours when required by project needs.
