About the BCLDB:
The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province. The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis, and operates the retails brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.
The LDB is committed to government's goals of making life better for people in B.C., improving services, and ensuring a sustainable province for future generations. LDB's Information Technology (IT) team consists of five divisions: Customer Experience, Infrastructure & Operations (I&O), Software Services, a Chief Information Security Office, and a Chief Technology Office. These divisions are responsible to collectively deliver the IT mandate of supporting LDB's corporate and business operations and enabling future needs and initiatives.
At present, the IT team consists of more than 260 full-time employees and includes a sourcing strategy to leverage external expertise to ensure the integrated IT team continues to deliver LDB's strategic initiatives efficiently and effectively.
The IT department of the LDB is responsible for the entire computing infrastructure for all of the 230+ BC Liquor Stores, BC Cannabis Stores as well as LDB's head office in Burnaby and 4 Warehouse/Distribution Centres including Delta, Kamloops, Richmond, and Victoria. IT department also manages three data centres located in Burnaby, Delta and Kamloops.
About this role:
Reporting to the Manager, the QA Analyst III is responsible for the analysis of requirements, confirming requirements testability and traceability; championing process for test management and defect tracking; development of automated test scripts traceable to requirements using programming in Java, Python or C#; performing manual and automated testing and the subsequent identification, analysis and initial prioritization of defects, issues or change requests; and establishing and maintaining the Automated Test Framework and Scripts.
A criminal record check is required.

Education and Experience:
Degree or diploma in information technology, computer science, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of recent, related experience*.
OR
A combination of education, training and experience may be considered i.e., secondary (high) school diploma with formal coursework and/or certifications in information technology, computer science or related field with 4 years of recent, related experience*.
*Recent, related experience must have occurred in the last 5 years and must include the following:

- Experience with MySQL and MSSQL.
- Experience working in Azure environment.
- Experience with developing, executing and/or maintaining test automation scripts and/or frameworks in C# or Java.
Preference may be given to those candidates with any of the following:
- QA accreditation such as Certified Test Engineer (CSTE), Certified Associate in Software Testing (CAST), International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) etc.
- Experience in beverage alcohol industry/supply chain or wholesale/retail operations.
- Experience with presentation of test plans, creating test reports and/or identifying/escalating risks.
- Experience testing in an Agile environment.
- Experience with developing master test plans.
- Experience in developing test automation frameworks, with development tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Rest API, Sikuli, Eggplant, Jenkins, Watir, JMeterTest, Codeless Automation Test Suites, etc.
- Experience with programming and/or scripting languages such as Java, C#, Python and/or visual basic (VB).
- Experience developing and maintaining performance/load/stress testing framework.
- Experience managing test environments (TEM).
- Experience in coordinating or leading software/product test teams such as defining test approaches and deliverables, providing estimates for QA work effort, logging defects, and/or investigation and troubleshooting defects.
- Experience working with one or more of the following business systems and processes:
- POS, Inventory, Pricing, Markup/Promotions, Marketing, Merchandising, Replenishment, Workforce Management, Space Planning, Assortment Planning, eCommerce, Digital Signage, Email Campaign Management, Demand Planning, Forecasting, Warehouse Management System, Transport Management Systems, Labour Management, Replenishment, Inventory Management, Finance (A/R, A/P, G/L, Data Management, Audit, Purchasing), HR (Recruitment, Payroll, Training & Learning, Labour Relations, Occupational Health & Safety).
