General Information
The Oak Tree Clinic is a clinic at BC Women's Hospital focusing on the care of women, children, persons and families living with HIV and other reproductive infectious diseases. We provide exceptional holistic care to more than 600 adults, 200 children and youth and 200 pregnant individuals. You will work with our large multidisciplinary team including Infectious Diseases specialists, NPs, OBGYNs, Pediatricians, Psychiatrists, counsellors, outreach and nursing, social work, pharmacists, clerks, dieticians and research associates, in our culturally safe, diverse, trauma informed clinic. We serve as both an Infectious Diseases speciality clinic and provide primary care services for our longitudinal patients living with HIV, with an emphasis on women's health. You will have the opportunity to join our provincial and national leaders, as well as world class research team to support patients.
We are seeking a specialist in Obstetrical care for women and persons living with HIV who are pregnant or require consultation from a gynecologist or are impacted by other obstetrical and gynecologic infections. You will be an OBGYN with training in infectious disease. As an essential member of the Oak Tree Clinic team you'll provide direct and indirect clinical care for individuals living with HIV, participate in interdisciplinary clinical rounds, educational rounds, provide telephone support throughout the province, teaching of learners, and the have the opportunity to participate in research and clinical practice guideline creation. You will report to the Oak Tree Clinic Medical Director and the Department Head at BCWH.
As a member of the Oak tree clinic team you will participate in direct patient care, participate in interdisciplinary clinical rounds, educational rounds, provide telephone support throughout the province, teaching of learners, and the opportunity to participate in research. Creation of clinical practice guidelines and other activities related to the Oak Tree Clinic where input of a physician is required.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have obtained fellowship standing in the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada in Obstetrics and Gynecology, ideally along with subspecialty training in Infectious Diseases. Additional clinical experience with women's health and/or marginalized populations is welcome. Candidates must be eligible for licensing with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia.
