About the Opportunity

LFN is looking for a full-time Health Manager based in Lytton, BC.

Reporting to the Health Director, you will play a pivotal role in leading a multidisciplinary health care team to provide preventative and remedial health services that address the holistic needs of the Lytton First Nation community.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of community health programs while ensuring alignment with regional and national health objectives.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing and monitoring health program budgets in collaboration with the Health Director
  • Assessing community health needs and adjusting program delivery to align with community goals
  • Providing leadership, mentorship, and performance evaluations for health department staff
  • Ensuring compliance with health service guidelines, ethical standards, and funding requirements
  • Advocating for community health programming and liaising with key stakeholders and funders
  • Supporting staff in developing and maintaining work plans and service delivery initiatives
  • Overseeing conflict resolution, team-building efforts, and staff training programs
  • Representing LFN at health-related meetings, committees, and regional planning initiatives

About You

To qualify, you will need a post-secondary education in Health Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, or Nursing, along with a minimum of 3+ years of supervisory experience in health services or a related field. Due to the recent fires, accommodations in Lytton are currently limited, and candidates must view living in temporary housing or commuting as a commitment to supporting the community’s ongoing rebuilding and resilience efforts.

The following are also required:

  • Ability to undergo a criminal record & vulnerable sector checks
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License & access to a reliable vehicle
  • Willingness and ability to travel per organization needs

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Experience in community health program planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Knowledge of health policies, funding processes, and financial reporting
  • Ability to supervise, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong conflict resolution and team-building abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and reporting tools
  • Familiarity with First Nations health challenges, including intergenerational trauma and community trust-building
